Pre-registration is compulsory for all players, and no fees are charged at this point.

Pre-registration begins on Friday, 15th August, and will be open for 2 weeks only.

Please get in early, as we may close pre-registration early if capacity is reached.

If you miss pre-registration. Please reach out via email to check the availability of spots within your age group.

For all pre-registered players, we will be in touch via email with your link to officially register via PlayHQ with Helena Basketball Club once allocations have been finalised.

You should receive information about team allocations once teams have been created.

Your Coaches and Team Managers will contact you with more information closer to the start of the season.

How it works

1) HBC send out a link to the PRE REGISTRATION FORM (COMPULSORY) or people clicked through to register if not on mailing list.

2) Individual players PRE-REGISTER to the Club via form- no fees collected at this point

3) The club allocates players to teams. (This process takes 2-4 weeks)

4) HBC informs players of their team lists and provides the link to formally register via PlayHQ

5) Individual players register to their team via PlayHQ (fees paid at this point)

**PLEASE NOTE: If you do not Pre-Register, there may not be available teams or places for you to join at a later date when general registrations open. To secure a place at Helena Basketball Club for Summer 25/26, a Pre-Registration must be completed.

FAQ's-

  • What team will I be put on?

    • Teams will be allocated in the same way they have been previously. The pre-registration form allows for special requests to be made, allowing families to indicate their preferences (ie- I'd like to stay with my old team, or, Can I please play with my friends X and Y?) and we try our absolute best to accommodate these requests. Other factors taken into consideration include age, gender, skills, training availability, coaching and team manager resources.

  • What if I don't like the team I've been allocated to? Can I simply not register via PlayHQ?

    • We would like everyone to carefully think about this. A completed pre-registration form is considered a commitment to playing. If players pre-register, then change their mind, they are letting others down.

    • Team sport is an excellent opportunity to embrace change, tackle challenges and grow. If you don't like your team at first, it might be a great opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills.

    • We understand circumstances change and we are happy to talk with families if they are having concerns.

    • If multiple players "pull out" and replacements can't be found, then the team may have to be withdrawn.

  • I forgot to pre-register, can I register later?

    • We will accept late registrations if there are vacancies. But please don't rely on this- we really do require the pre-registration form ASAP to ensure we can secure our teams and availability of additional positions.

  • Will I have to fill in all these annoying questions again on the PlayHQ form!?

    • Nope, just the essential information will need to be filled in on PlayHQ.

  •  Do the fees need to be paid when pre-registering?

    • No, the fees will be paid via the PlayHQ platform when you register.

  • What are the fees going to be for Winter Season? Fees from HRBA, Basketball WA and Basketball Australia are also yet to be finalised, however, an indication based on last season is -

    • Basketball Australia- $5.61 (paid annually)

    • Basketball WA- $43.84 (paid annually)

    • HRBA Fee- $82.00 (plus a weekly game fee of $82 Jr or $90 Sr per team)

    • HBC Fee- under review, will not be more than $35.00 TBC

  • But what day are the games going to be on?

    •  Days listed on pre-rego form and current season information page on website.

By filling out a Pre-Registration, you are committing to playing with HBC for the season. If your circumstances change and you wish to withdraw your registration, you must notify HBC at basketballhelena@gmail.com ASAP.

Games are run from Mundaring Arena, located at 50 Mundaring Weir Road, Mundaring, WA and Mundaring Christian College, 1605 Walker St, Mundaring.

Game Days are specified on the relevant season information page. However, we assume they may be the same as last season, as referenced in the FAQ's.

Games run for 2 x 20-minute halves, with 5 5-minute break at half-time.

Players register through the PlayerHQ Website and pay upfront Fees for the Season.

There are then ongoing fees for the competition allocated to Hills Raiders, who run the competition and manage the venue fees.

We register teams from Under 10s upwards, through to Senior teams and place them with similar ages and abilities.

Once pre-registered, you will be allocated into teams with friends if requested, where possible, and to appropriate skill sets and ages.

Team codes will be supplied, and players will formally register and pay via PlayHQ links.

A jersey is supplied for the season and returned upon completion. Shorts are required to be purchased.

The aim is to take a fun and friendly approach and build strong friendships, skills, and camaraderie as a team and club.

Please note: Season spots fill up quickly, so if you're interested, be sure to act promptly.
